Master Plan

130228_Logo-FinTo this point, God has given us a vision of the layout and scale of the retreat. As we move closer to working with consultants, God may fine tune or even total revise this vision.  The master plan for the retreat will consist of three main buildings with amenities such as an outdoor worship area, fire pit, mediation trail, etc. on about 35+ acres.  People will have a choice between two sleeping arrangements from the more primitive tent area to to the lodge. The layout of the site’s facilities will be determined based on the property’s terrain and vegetation. Our goal when laying out and constructing the plan is to minimize the impact to the environment.

  • The Lodge will sleep approximately 30 people. The lodge will have 6 sleeping rooms with a great room and self-service kitchen.

    Initial Lodge Concept

  •  The Dining/Community Hall will seat up to 50 people. The hall will also include the staff run full service kitchen, game/meeting room, community area, and the retreat office.
  • The Tent Area will provide groomed pads for people can pitch their own tents. The area would accommodate up to 16 people.
  •  The Tent Area Bathhouse will provide showers and restrooms for the tent area.  The tent area will include 4 pre-defined tent pads that will provide space to sleep up to 16 people.

Potential Bathhouse Concept

SWR intends to partner with the local community, encouraging involvement in the development of the retreat buildings, etc.  An example may be local artisans displaying their work.
